Bache-Gabrielsen Pure & Rustic
Pure & Rustic is the name used for four new cognacs from Bache-Gabrielsen. Our cellar master Jean-Philippe Bergier has collaborated closely with experienced distillers in order to produce cognacs with a modern style. They would like to invite you to experience this light, fresh style which consists of a rich fruitiness and has associations with country life in Cognac.
BACHE-GABRIELSEN PURE & RUSTIC PETITE CHAMPAGNE SAINTE LHEURINE COGNAC VIEUX
This brandy from Cognac is made in collaboration with the fourth generation of “Bouilleurs De Cru”, Nöel Gay, in the hamlet of Sainte Lheurine, close to the larger and better-known village of Archiac in Petite Champagne. This is a Single Estate brandy, since the Ugni Blanc grapes from which it originates are only grown in the Gay family vineyards. The wine was primarily distilled in the 1980s. The bottled alcohol content is 54.8% vol.
BACHE-GABRIELSEN PURE & RUSTIC PETITE CHAMPAGNE BARRET
This brandy is made in collaboration with the Montaud family, the fifth generation of distillers to hold the title of “Bouilleurs de Cru” in the village of Barret. Pure & Rustic Barret is a real ten-year-old Cognac only made in the Petite Champagne district. The eau de vie it is distilled from is white wine made from Ugni Blanc grapes. It matures in cellars in both new and old oak casks from Limousin.
Bache-Gabrielsen Pure & Rustic V.S.O.P.
This V.S.O.P. is a blend of 75% Fins Bois and 25% Borderies cognac. Stored in oak casks for over 5 years. It has a pale gold colour. Fresh, with a rich aroma of ripe fruit. A round, fruity mouth with a distinct, lively finish. A good length.
Bache-Gabrielsen Pure & Rustic XO
A blend of 25% Grande Champagne, 15% Petite Champagne and 60% Fins Bois. Stored in oak casks for over 10 years. Pale golden colour. Discretely composed bouquet of dried fruit, flowers and elegant tones derived from the casks. Elegant light, fruity mouth with a remarkable length.
Bache-Gabrielsen Pure & Rustic 1990 Grand Champagne
This is a 100% Grand Champagne vintage cognac that has been stored under the control of the Bureau National Interprofessionel du Cognac (BNIC) since 1990. Light golden brown. Light, discrete nose and fruity with elegant mineral tones. A lively taste with extremely good concentration.
Bache-Gabrielsen Pure & Rustic XO Petite Champagne Single Estate
This is a 100% Petite Champagne that was distilled by Mr. Guelin in 1975. Stored in Limousin oak casks for 30 years. This is a single-cask cognac with a cask strength of 54.8% (not diluted with water before bottling). Deep golden brown colour. Composed of a bouquet bearing witness to its pedigree. Noble, long aftertaste. The natural alcohol content requires thought when you drink it. A fantastic cognac for those who have done it before!
