Bache-Gabrielsen Cuvéer
It’s always a good idea to go down into the cellar when you want the best. After years of wine tasting in the Cognac district, wine waiter Toralf Bølgen and Bache-Gabrielsen’s cellar master Jean Philippe Bergier have selected the following cuvées:
Cuvée Anna No. 99 V.S.
Cuvée Anna No. 99 is a classic VS cognac with an aroma of grapes and elegant cask tones. The blend consists of a 3-5 year old Fins Bois, and a 10% Petite Champagne with an older vintage, something that lends Cuvée Anna an extra dimension in the form of its concentration of tastes and its long aftertaste. A round, well-composed cognac. It takes its name from. Anna Bølgen, who was born in 1993 and is the sister of Selma and Maria and the friend of Solène.
Cuvée Maria No. 99 X.O.
Cuvée Maria No. 99 X.O is a blend from selected top distillers in Grande and Petite Champagne, as well as 20% Fins Bois. The latter lends a body and structure to the blend, while the Champagne qualities provide Cuvée Maria with its character and concentration of tastes. A well-balanced and elegant XO, which takes its name from Maria Bølgen, who was born in 1993 and is the big sister of Selma and Anna and the friend of Solène.
Cuvée Solène No. 99 Vieux
This rare, exceptional cognac from Grande Champagne has been selected from among some of the best vintages and batches produced by the Vergnion family in the village of Lignières-Sonneville. All the distillates date back to the middle of the 1960s. A cognac for big occasions. It takes its name after Solène Bergier, who was born in 1995 and is the French friend of Selma, Anna and Maria Bølgen.
Cuvée Selma No. 99 Pineau des Charentes
This is a Pineau des Charentes blanc. Behind this designation lurks a delicious drink made from first class cognac and pure grape juice. Cuvée Selma is a young, fruity Pineau cognac produced from Colombard grapes that have been grown in the Cognac sub-district of Borderies, and selected by Toralf Bølgen with the help of Bache-Gabrielsen’s cellar master Jean-Philippe Bergier. It takes its name from Selma Bølgen, who was born in 2002 and is the sister of Anna and Maria and the friend of Solène, who all have good cognacs named after them. Served chilled as a delicious aperitif, or as an accompaniment to desserts, strong cheeses and pâté de fois gras.
